The Family
Violence Center shelter has the same needs as your own home. Think of
what you buy on a weekly basis and multiply that by 40 families and you
will have what we need for our shelter. Everyday needs such as food,
toilet paper, personal care items, dental care items etc.
Perhaps you
could
spend one day tracking what you use and need for normal, everyday
living, then write it down and perhaps when you go to the store, you
can pick up two - one for you and one for the shelter women and
children.
The Family
Violence Center has some suggestions of items listed below. They go to
the people we serve and to the programs and services which directly
affect our clients.
Generally,
these
items are always needed due to our ever changing client base. Don't
panic viewing the list and say that there is no way you can get all of
these things. Pick out one or two and get just those. If everyone
donates just a little; it will add up to a lot.
We also have
needs for certain items at specific times of the year such as holidays,
back to school and other times.
