"Never doubt that a small group of concerned citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever could!" - Margaret Mead
Volunteers are utilized on a daily basis at the Family Violence Center. People from
all walks of life donate their time and energy to help the center. Volunteers are needed
in the Hotline office, the Administrative office, the Clothing Room and the Shelter Youth Program. We try to
work around your schedule. You tell us when you want to work and where your interests lie. If it wasn't
for volunteers, the shelter would have a very difficult time remaining open.
Karla is our volunteer coordinator and has been with the Family Violence Center since the year 2000. She started as a women's advocate
in the hotline office and then moved to the volunteer program.
She will talk with you and then find a volunteer position which is just right for you.
When you contact the Center to volunteer, Karla is the one
who will set-up your time and position.
So help the Center by volunteering today!
The volunteer hours provided by members of our community were:
2006 - 10,914.45 hours
2005 - 11,126
2004 - 15,340
2003 - 11,342
2002 - 8,136
2001 - 2,863
Each of these hours allowed the Center to provide services to victims that otherwise might not have been available due to limited staff and funding.
