Letter From The President
Dear Friends,
We have so many unsung heroes who do so many things for us and never ask for recognition. Following are just a sampling of kindnesses we have received lately:
-A men’s group that has come every Thursday for the last ??? years (at least 4!) to play with the kids
-Three ladies that come in every Monday morning to help sort donations
-Someone anonymously donated a pick-up truck
-Someone donated deer meat
-A lady brings Papa Murphy’s pizzas once a month for the entire shelter
-A sandwich vendor brings by what he doesn’t sell
-A group of quilters made tote bags for our residents
-A decorating company solicited Lowe’s to sell them paint at a reduced cost for our Day of Caring
-(And my personal favorite) a 10 year old girl donated all her birthday presents to children in the shelter!
The people involved with these activities are truly shining stars and there are many more. We provide everything for our residents while they are here, free of charge to them. When you go to buy shampoo, why not pick up an extra one? Or when you go to the grocery store, why not throw a few extra cans of vegetables in the cart? Or when buying laundry detergent, how about purchasing an extra box? We need everything here that you need in your household and appreciate your donations very much! Without volunteers and kind donors, we would not be able to offer the services now in place. Thank you in advance for your generosity!!
